The position works closely with our project manager and subcontractors to oversee new construction and reroofing projects. About the Role The Construction Manager will examine and inspect work progress, equipment, and construction sites to verify safety and ensure specifications are met. They will act as the first point of contact for crews, delegate project responsibilities to the crew foreman as required to better manage their time, job profitability, and the project overall. The Construction Manager will maintain the highest standard of safety controls over projects, purchase and schedule all labor and materials after initial project buyout by the project manager, organize delivery of additional materials, roof access equipment, dumpsters, and labor as needed within the project budget, oversee material inventories to ensure no shortages or delays, and problem‑solve in the field with the GC and crews if within the quoted scope & budget.
Responsibilities & Qualifications Proficient in low‑slope roofing systems including metal, TPO, EPDM, PVC & Modified Bitumen (shingles is a plus but not required). 3‑5 years’ experience as a construction manager or superintendent. Strong ability to lead others. Ability to work independently and with minimal oversight. Strong time management and organization skills. Ability to multi‑task while working in a fast‑paced environment. Ability to work strenuously (bending, lifting, stooping) in all‑weather environments. Working knowledge of basic math skills for material calculations. Open availability Monday through Friday with the possibility of working weekends and on‑call as business needs determine. Excellent presentation, communication, writing, and listening skills.
Company Locations For 20 years, Highland Roofing has provided comprehensive commercial roofing services across the Carolinas. We currently have locations in Charlotte, Wilmington and Raleigh, NC.
