Role Overview
The Senior Mechanical Engineer will support the Plant Engineering Advanced Planning & Innovation team, focusing on early‑stage planning, analysis, and design of industrial facilities supporting battery manufacturing and on‑site suppliers. This role plays a key part in developing safe, efficient, and cost‑effective infrastructure solutions. Reporting to the Advanced Planning & Innovation Manager, this position emphasizes concept development, engineering analysis, and collaboration across planning, design, and construction phases. Key Responsibilities
Provide technical support for early project planning related to industrial building mechanical systems. Conduct feasibility studies and evaluate innovative design and implementation approaches, including cost and schedule impacts. Research and benchmark industry trends to improve facility design, quality, safety, and efficiency. Develop project justifications, business cases, and executive‑level presentations. Support planning, design, and construction activities through cross‑functional collaboration. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related) or 5+ years of hands‑on mechanical systems experience. 5+ years of experience in industrial building design, construction, operations, or maintenance. 5+ years of experience with industrial mechanical systems (HVAC, process piping, chilled water, compressed air, etc.). 3+ years of reporting and presentation experience with intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Outlook). Preferred Qualifications
Professional Engineer (PE) license. Experience with industrial controls or automation systems (BMS, EMS, fire alarm, SCADA). Experience with industrial chemical systems (wastewater, tank farms). Familiarity with Power BI, Bluebeam Revu, Navisworks, and/or AutoCAD. Strong problem‑solving mindset with a continuous improvement (Kaizen) approach. Salary & Benefits
Pay Rate: $75–$85/hour (overtime 20%, travel up to 25%). Benefits: Medical insurance, Vision insurance, 401(k). Location
