Taltran Global has been exclusively retained by a private equity–backed, technology-enabled facilities services company to recruit a Controller. Founded as a specialized services provider and recently acquired by a strategic buyer, the company operates at the intersection of facilities services and technology, supporting a growing national customer base. With strong momentum, new ownership, and multiple acquisition opportunities on the horizon, the organization is entering a period of accelerated growth and transformation.
The Controller will report directly to senior leadership and will be responsible for enhancing accounting operations and financial reporting across the company. This role will play a critical part in building scalable financial infrastructure, strengthening internal controls, and supporting integration efforts as the company expands organically and through M&A. The Controller will serve as a key business partner to executive leadership, helping to professionalize the finance function in a fast‑growing, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
The Controller is responsible for both strategic financial oversight and hands‑on accounting operations.
Day‑to‑Day Accounting Operations:
Participate in daily accounting activities, including bank and cash reconciliations, journal entries, payroll entries, and general ledger accuracy.
Serve as operational backup for Accounts Payable and Payroll as needed.
Month‑End Close & Financial Integrity:
Own the month‑end close process, including timelines and deliverables.
Prepare and review balance sheet and income statement reconciliations, sales tax, accruals, prepaids, reserve accounts, and resolve complex accounting issues.
Payroll:
Prepare monthly commission reports, validate sales data and eligibility, maintain commission documentation, process payroll and maintain payroll records.
Prepare and deliver monthly financial statements, management reporting, shareholder and ownership reporting, and perform variance analysis.
Oversight of A/R and Cash Flow:
Directly manage the Accounts Receivable function and staff, monitor aging, collections, and customer credits, forecast cash flow and manage liquidity.
Compliance & External Relations:
Primary contact for external CPA and auditors, banks and lenders, ensure compliance with payroll tax filings and year‑end reporting, final review and approval of audit and compliance results.
Administrative & Compliance Support:
Coordinate workers’ compensation and business insurance audit data preparation.
Leadership & Controls:
Establish and enforce accounting policies and internal controls, mentor staff, approve financial transactions within delegated authority.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA licensure is required.
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction, facilities services, or other operationally complex environments.
Proven expertise in project‑based accounting.
Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
Experience building or enhancing accounting infrastructure and processes.
Prior experience in a PE‑backed, high‑growth, or acquisition‑driven company strongly preferred.
Experience supporting systems implementations preferred.
Comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving environment with senior‑level visibility.
Strong communication skills and ability to partner effectively with both executive leadership and operations.
