Cardiac | Cath Lab Electrophysiology Technician
Responsibilities
Assist physicians with electrophysiology procedures including patient preparation, electrophysiological recording, mapping and ablation, and injection of contrast agent.
Monitor, measure and record patient hemodynamic data.
Operate physiologic and radiographic equipment while working in an invasive procedure area.
Collaborate with all disciplines for well-coordinated care.
Prepare patient for the procedure by performing assigned tasks (i.e. scrub, recording, circulating).
Assist with other activities that will facilitate effective/efficient use of the resources in the pre and post-procedure phases.
Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience demonstrating proficiency in Cardiac | Cath Lab Electrophysiology Technician qualifications.
Experience in other areas of invasive cardiology in a clinical setting directly related to the required qualifications may be considered.
Knowledge of diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias.
A basic understanding of congenital and acquired heart disease and peripheral vascular disease is necessary.
Understand the pathophysiology or disease process of atrial fibrillation, ventricular tachycardia, supraventricular tachycardia, cardiomyopathy, myocardial infarction, valvular disorders and the associated manifestations in patients.
Knowledge of diseases of other systems and their impact upon the cardiovascular system.
Knowledge of universal precautions, infection control techniques and methods of cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment.
Knowledge of patient physical and emotional reactions to procedures and ability to recognize and respond appropriately to potential emergencies.
Must have either prior experience or aptitude to learn basics for interrogation and programming.
Compensation details:
66-70 Hourly Wage
