Registered Nurse (T&RC) 15N Medicine Full Time Night
Position Summary:
At Stony Brook Medicine, Registered Nurses diagnose and treat responses to actual or potential health problems, providing supportive care that adheres to medical regimens.
Responsibilities
Assess patient condition and nursing needs; coordinate nursing care activities with other health disciplines.
Develop written individualized care plans including teaching needs and discharge planning.
Administer direct care and medications; practice infection control.
Assume responsibility for delivery of nursing care to all assigned patients; communicate changes to Charge RN/Clinician.
Maintain current written plan of care; set priorities and patient goals.
Provide documented evidence of patient/family teaching and understanding.
Communicate and work effectively with other staff and departments.
Participate in unit or hospital based quality assurance activities or committees.
Working Conditions Exposure to infectious disease, blood, body fluids and/or tissue. May be required to handle varying unpredictable emergency and crisis situations. Occasionally irregular hours and pressure. Classified by OSHA as Category 1.
Qualifications Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC)
Required: Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing and at least one year of previous hospital acute care experience.

Salary $109,275- $129,713 (adjusts by shift)
