We are seeking a Sr DevOps Engineer for a long‑term contract with our client in Austin, TX. Candidates must be local to Austin. The position will be hybrid, onsite 3 days a week.
Overview Works with IT developers to facilitate better coordination among operations, development, and testing functions by automating and streamlining integration and deployment processes. DevOps aims at coupling a tighter alignment between IT operations and businesses.
Skilled DevOps Engineer to design and implement cloud‑native solutions on AWS, enabling scalable, secure, and automated application delivery. This role focuses on building robust CI/CD pipelines, automation, and operational excellence for modern cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement cloud‑native architectures leveraging AWS services.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments and testing.
Develop Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Implement monitoring, logging, and observability solutions to ensure system reliability.
Collaborate with development, security, and operations teams to optimize workflows and enforce best practices.
Drive automation initiatives to reduce manual effort and improve system scalability.
Candidate Skills and Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
8+ years of experience in DevOps or related field.
Strong experience with AWS services (EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, VPC).
Proficiency in CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline).
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation).
Hands‑on experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK stack).
Familiarity with Linux administration, scripting (Python, Bash), and version control (Git).
Preferred:
Knowledge of observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
Familiarity with performance tuning and high‑availability strategies.
Experience with serverless architectures and event‑driven workflows.
