Hours : Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

We are pleased to offer the opportunity to work as a Career Counselor within the DuPage County Workforce Development Division. The workNet DuPage Career Center is funded through the federal Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) and provides an extensive range of services to both job seekers and employers. Job seeker services include grants for job training programs, job search workshops, career counseling, a job search resource center, and more.

This position is eligible for our complete benefit package including medical, dental and vision insurance, flexible spending accounts, life insurance, pension, deferred compensation plan, tuition reimbursement, pre‑paid legal and credit union. As a team member at DuPage County, you will also have access to time off with pay on Designated Holidays or holiday pay if required to work, Vacation time, Sick time and Paid Leave.

Responsibilities

Conducts interviews with participants related to eligibility, barriers to employment, individual job search goals and development of individual employment plan

Develops individual goals with the participant related to employment, training, internships, job readiness and job search skills

Links participants to other partner agencies and colleague as appropriate and works collectively toward self‑sufficient employment for all individuals

Conducts on‑going case management specific to the needs of each participant

Prepares, tracks and maintains participant information in department database from the program entry to program exit and follow up

Provides resource information regarding social services to participants and acts as an advocate when needed

Requirements REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE Requirements include the following experience or equivalent combination of training and experience:

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Social Services, Education, Business, or a related field

One (1) year of related work experience

Must possess and maintain in good standing a valid Illinois driver’s license.

Preferred Candidate Will

Be bilingual in Spanish

A pre‑employment background check is required.
