Vice President – Information Technology

to join our executive team. The Vice President – Information Technology provides strategic technology leadership, balancing independent agency and policyholder value with operational excellence through innovative and cost‑effective technology solutions. The position also supports the professional development of the team through coaching, mentoring, and leadership development. Responsibilities

Strategic Technology Leadership

Develop and execute the IT 3‑5 year roadmap and strategy, aligned with company values and business objectives. Partner with the business on transformation initiatives across underwriting, claims, distribution, and customer service. Serve as technology advisor to the CEO, executive leadership, and Board of Directors. Champion innovation while maintaining operational stability and risk management. Collaborate with the Enterprise Agility Office to evaluate existing technology, information systems, and staffing, and recommend new solutions. Manage vendor relationships, negotiate technology contracts, and steward IT budgets and investments. Facilitate communication among staff, management, vendors, and resources to foster collaboration and continuous improvement. Model ethical behavior and maintain a high level of professional competence. Support an open, transparent environment that encourages new ideas and leadership abilities. Coaching and development of high‑potential employees.

Core Systems, Infrastructure & Modernization

Oversee data warehousing, network infrastructure, data centers, and cloud services. Lead modernization initiatives, including system upgrades, scalable platforms, cloud migration strategies, and mobile/digital engagement channels. Ensure system reliability, availability, disaster recovery, and performance for mission‑critical operations. Establish technology standards and architectural principles. Implement IT governance framework and controls. Ensure integration architecture and API management. Guide technology decisions across the organization.

Data Strategy, Quality and Analytics

Collaborate in developing the enterprise data strategy and governance frameworks. Ensure data quality, integrity, accessibility, and support regulatory reporting and e‑discovery. Evaluate and integrate advanced analytics, AI, machine learning, and IoT.

Cybersecurity & Risk Management & Compliance

Establish and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity strategies, frameworks, and controls. Manage cyber risk assessment, vulnerability management, incident response, and business continuity planning. Implement identity/access management and third‑party vendor security assessments. Ensure compliance with state insurance regulations, SOC 2, ISO, NAIC data security model law, and manage cyber insurance. Mitigate risks and address obstacles.

Bachelor’s degree in information technology (IT), computer science, or related field. Minimum 15 years of experience as an IT professional, including at least 10 years of experience managing people. Broad knowledge of information systems operations, including application development, network systems, project management, and technology support. Leadership experience with the ability to effect change and motivate people. Conceptual understanding of the P&C insurance industry and related business processes. Experience working within an agile framework. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high‑pressure environment. Proven analytical and problem‑solving abilities. Prior experience serving in a Chief Information Security Officer role highly desirable. Prior experience leading through business transformation highly desirable. Seniority Level
