Position Overview Northrop Grumman Space Systems—Launch and Missile Defense Systems presents an excellent opportunity for a Principal Engineer Software – SW CI/CD Engineer (25-398) to join our team of skilled and diverse professionals. This position, based in Colorado Springs, CO, or Huntsville, AL, is crucial in supporting the U.S. President, the Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels.
This position does not offer relocation assistance and requires working on-site with no option for remote work.
Essential Functions
Experience working within classified environments to implement CI/CD pipelines supporting multiple software releases and build versions
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, be able to work independently, and possess the flexibility to adapt in a highly dynamic environment
Need to collaborate effectively with multiple disciplinary teams, especially Systems Admins, IT, and Security
Salary range in Huntsville: $105,400 - $158,000
Salary range in Colorado Springs: $100,300 - $150,500
Basic Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field from accredited university is preferred, along with 5 years of experience; or a Master’s degree (preferred) in a related field with 3 years of relevant work experience; or 9 years of relevant work experience may be considered as an alternative to a degree
Applicants must have a current, active in-scope DoD-issued Secret security clearance at the time of application, which is required to start
Candidates with an active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) are strongly preferred at the time of application. If such a certification is not held, it must be obtained within 40 days of the start date. The selected candidate will be responsible for securing and maintaining their DoD 8140 certification. Candidates who fail to obtain the prescribed certification within 40 days will be evaluated for removal
Willingness and ability to travel up to 10% to support business needs
Preferred Qualifications
Having an active DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (such as Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) at the time of application is highly preferred
Linux system administration and security implementations
Experience with various tools such as:
Git
Nexus
Jenkins
Jira
Confluence
Proficiency with CI/CD, especially within a classified development environment
Familiarity with DEVSECOPS practices
Skills in Linux shell scripting, Ansible playbook creation and management, Security-Enhanced (SE) Linux, and Red Hat repository administration
Experience working in an Agile development setting
Knowledge of:
Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG)
Multi-Factor Authentication (e.g., IPA and ADFS)
OpenShift
OpenStack
VMware ESXi
QAS/VAS
Windows
Active Directory, backup and recovery, and container orchestration products
Understanding of PaaS and SaaS concepts
Knowledge of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery, and their application to IT and IT products

Additional Northrop Grumman Information Primary Level Salary Range: $100,300.00 - $158,000.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
