Pay Range $24.58/hr - $24.58/hr (provided by TICO (Terminal Investment Corporation))
Pay & Status Starting Pay: $24.58/hr Status: Full-Time | Immediate Hire
Schedule Open availability required, including all shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Responsibilities
As a Railroad Switchman at ConGlobal, you will play a critical role in the safe and efficient movement of railcars within our terminal.
Monitor and operate track switches to ensure proper alignment for railcar movement.
Inspect track conditions and switch points to identify any issues affecting safe operation.
Couple and uncouple air hoses between railcars as part of train assembly or disassembly.
Replace damaged or broken railcar connectors (approximately 75 lbs).
Communicate with train crews and yard personnel to ensure coordinated rail movements.
Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Maintain awareness of surroundings and potential hazards in a high-traffic rail environment.
Qualifications
2-3 years of rail experience desired
Switching or conductor experience preferred
Valid driver's license
Ability to always follow safety requirements and practices
Reliable, punctual and a strong work ethic
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
Ability to climb ladders and stairs both off and on railcars
Must pass a pre-employment background verification, physical and drug screening.
The Federal Rail Administration sets and enforces safety regulations and standards for railroad operations. Use of cannabis is strictly prohibited. If applicable for the position you are applying to, and if you are offered the position, you will have to take and pass a drug screen.
