Job Description Continue the effort of building NYSIF Enterprise Data Warehouse, consolidating/retiring multiple existing legacy data marts to eliminate duplication and establish a single source of truth. The consultant will focus on creating dashboards for claims/underwriting predictions, operationalizing prediction models, implementing an enterprise data catalog with full data lineage, and integrating financial transactions, cash flows, external auditors’ requests, and accounting reporting into NYSIF Enterprise Data Warehouse. The consultant will also recommend best practices and procedures for DataMart and data warehouse development.
Day-to-Day Tasks
Provide recommendations, guidance, and implementation for new data marts, as well as improving and consolidating existing ones.
Participate and contribute to DW/BI projects throughout the project lifecycle.
Establish written best practices and procedures, and provide guidance on DW/DM data model design.
Create and maintain up‑to‑date documentation for all supported DW/DM and ETL.
Plan, create, modify, maintain, test, and implement code for source‑system extraction, ETL, and BI dashboards and reports.
Develop and maintain Spotfire systems, including prediction models and automation services.
Automate source‑system data extraction processes and data loading into the Data Warehouse.
Operationalize prediction models.
Adhere to NYSIF’s application development standards, including project‑management methodology, SDLC, Enterprise Architecture standards, and IT governance. Support the BI Data Warehouse using TIBCO Spotfire and Information Builders Data Migrator.
Mandatory Qualifications Systems Architect: defines the architecture of a computerized system to fulfill requirements, including breakdown of components, interactions, interfaces (with environment, especially users), and technology/resources.
Senior: 60‑84 months of experience, able to work independently, provide guidance to others, and possibly hold advanced education.
Requested Qualifications
72 months of data‑modeling experience designing underwriting, claims DataMart, and data warehouse in the insurance industry (Workers’ Compensation and disability).
72 months of experience developing/maintaining predictive systems written in R or Python using TIBCO Spotfire/TERR.
72 months of experience with TIBCO Spotfire Analyst, Web Player, and Business Authors, using IronPython, R, and JavaScript.
72 months of experience developing, documenting, and maintaining end‑to‑end ETL pipelines (Information Builder International “IBI” Data Migrator aka TIBCO Data Migrator).
72 months of experience in Oracle PL/SQL development, including triggers, stored procedures, packages, advanced query optimization, database design, and implementation.
72 months of experience in Agile/Scrum project‑management methodology.
72 months of experience in automated testing, build, and deployment tools (TFS, PowerShell, Visual Build Pro).
72 months of experience with development tools such as VS Code, Visual Studio, Git, Azure, and TFS.
72 months of experience developing systems in workers' compensation, insurance for WC, DBL, PFL, PBM accounting and financial reporting using western and eastern method.
Bachelor’s Degree.
