Position Summary We are seeking an experienced
Coordinate Measuring Machine Programmer/Operator
with strong inspection skills to join our Quality Control department. This role is responsible for setting up and operating Hexagon & Browne & Sharpe Metrology CMMs using PC‑DMIS. The ideal candidate will have deep experience with 3D Modeling, Programming, and high‑precision inspection tools.
Key Responsibilities
Program & determine setup methodology and recommend fixturing for A&R’s Hexagon Metrology Global Chrome S and Browne & Sharpe CMM utilizing PC‑DMIS 2018 & 2019 for inspecting tightly toleranced customer parts with multiple datums, profiles, etc.
Create CMM programs utilizing customer‑supplied solid models.
Conduct CMM inspections of new or complex parts and generate required AS9102 1st‑article reports to support A&R shipments and new customer qualification parts.
Utilize CMM experience to train other inspectors and CNC lead personnel in use of programs and quick‑setup fixturing.
Conduct in‑process inspections of all A&R Engineering products including mechanical inspection of critical part features as delineated by the part blueprint or job order requirements.
Be competent in complex surface plate and/or open‐set‑ups using all standard inspection tools (height master, sine plate, hand tools, gauges, etc.).
Review and verify required job order sign‑offs and SPC completion for production 1st articles.
Create inspection plans for new parts or revisions of existing parts as directed by the Quality Manager or Director of Operations.
Learn setup and operation of A&R optical comparators and Keyence IM Vision systems to assist in performing in‑process and AS9102 1st‑article inspections.
Assist in training other A&R inspectors to enhance mechanical inspection techniques on difficult or hard‑to‑measure parts.
Qualifications Required qualifications:
3+ years of CMM experience in aerospace, defense, or a similar high‑tolerance industry.
Strong knowledge of PC‑DMIS, 3D model design/analysis, and blueprint reading (including GD&T).
Experience with aluminum and steel alloy precision CNC‑cut parts.
Familiarity with AS9100/ISO9001 and AS9012‑compliant work environments.
