Job Overview Wealth Credit Portfolio Manager

– Responsible for underwriting loan transactions, structuring loan terms, covenants, and pricing for high‑net‑worth or specialty client portfolios. Manages a portfolio averaging $500 MM+ with a focus on loans above $10 MM, often exceeding $100 MM, within Truist Wealth Advisory and specialty segments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Independently structure loan terms, covenants, and pricing; recommend deals to credit risk management.

Analyze financial statements, tax returns, collateral, and other due diligence to identify borrower risks and propose mitigants.

Prepare concise credit packages detailing transaction purpose, borrower profile, strengths, risks, and recommendations for presentation.

Negotiate legal documents and oversee closing processes with internal and external counsel.

Manage end‑to‑end credit delivery, coordinating with loan fulfillment, servicing, and cross‑functional partners.

Communicate timelines and expectations with advisory teams and clients.

Monitor portfolio performance, track trends, and address issues proactively.

Coordinate loan renewals, modifications, and periodic reviews, including covenant compliance and collateral monitoring.

Stay current on industry and regulatory trends that could impact portfolio borrowers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent experience.

Minimum seven (7) years in structured wealth lending or large commercial credit solutions.

Strong decision‑making, negotiation, and client relationship skills.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Experience with structured wealth lending underwriting or large commercial credit solutions.

Completion of formal bank credit training program preferred.

Underwriting and monitoring experience in specialty industries such as law firms or medical practices.

Strong industry, product, and financial modeling knowledge.

Solid understanding of legal and loan structuring fundamentals.
