The Process/Mechanical Project Engineer will provide engineering support to the company's GOM assets with particular focus on Process optimization and mechanical sizing of equipment. The candidate will work closely with Operations and Capital Projects on optimization, development, modification and refurbishment of the company's assets located in GoM. The ideal candidate has a strong process/mechanical engineering background and detailed knowledge of the content and application of standards, codes and guidelines as applicable by CFRs, BSEE. The tasks will include the development of assigned project scope of work and specific deliverables in the various phases of the project Pre‑FEED, FEED and EPCI. Typical assignments include management of scopes of work in brownfield projects including engineering design/studies, equipment procurement and installation. The candidate assists the project manager and manages engineering teams by providing guidance on the assigned scopes; promotes a focus on engineering, fabrication, construction and offshore installation; ensures effective communication among engineering disciplines; manages time to meet agreed deadlines and budgets; develops plans for short‑term and medium‑term work activities; ensures highest work priorities are addressed; manages change; assumes responsibility for cost, schedule, quantity and budget control. Key Tasks and Responsibilities
Gather data, including production data, product specifications and site condition data Provide recommendations to optimize the plant process and mechanical design Specify and review key deliverables: process simulations and heat‑and‑material balances; process flow diagrams (PFD); piping and instrument diagrams (P&ID); process and mechanical specifications; equipment mechanical datasheets; equipment list; line list; depressurization and flare studies; radiation studies; equipment and line sizing calculations; process studies; heat‑and‑material balance simulations; close‑out of HAZOP action items; review of the operating manual; approval of Process‑Specific Management Of Change (MOC) Assist throughout the projects from scope definition to engineering, procurement, fabrication, installation, precommissioning and commissioning Support the project manager in coordination and monitoring of all assigned projects, including definition and development of project scope, compliance, project team, contracting strategy, schedule, procurement activities, communication protocols, quality control, reporting, procurement documentation, bid evaluation reports, and promotion of HSEQ aspects Essential Qualifications and Education
Accredited Chemical or Mechanical engineering degree (Master's degree preferred) 15+ years of process and project engineering experience in lead roles with offshore projects Familiarity with process/mechanical designs and unit operations Proficiency with computer applications such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project or Primavera P6, and specialized engineering tools (e.g., HYSIS, OLGA) Preferred Qualifications and Education
P.E. registration certificate Master's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Project / Area / Regional Specifics
Eligibility to work in the United States Work at the Houston office in a hybrid mode (3 days in office per week minimum) Seniority Level
