We are currently searching for an experienced

CEI Senior Project Engineer to support our East Gulf Region located in Brentwood, TN .

To be considered for this position, applicants musthave, at minimum, 10 years of experience in major road and bridge construction and TDOT experience.

What you’ll be doing:

Direct construction engineering administration and inspection project/program

Plan and organize the work of subordinate and staff members; develop and/or review project specific policies, methods, practices, and procedures

Review programs for conformance with Client standards

Identify and pursue future opportunities

The Senior Project Engineer is responsible for developing and maintaining an excellent professional relationship with those organizations to facilitate both the successful completion of current ongoing projects and the successful pursuit of follow‑on assignments

Preparing proposals and estimates for new projects

Reviewing technical work and reports prepared by others

Managing projects so that schedules and budget are met

Periodic visits to construction or work sites to perform inspections

What you need to have:

Civil Engineering degree from an ABET accredited program

Registered Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of Tennessee is required

10+ years of progressive experience in major road and bridge construction

TDOT experience and existing relationships required (Region 3 preferred)

Previous experience managing projects and personnel

Must have proven skills in meeting TDOT expectations, schedules, and budgets

Proven leadership, communication, mentoring, and client liaison skills

Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug screening to ensure a safe and productive work environment. Volkert adheres to federal guidelines, which may include testing for substances such as marijuana. Please note that federal regulations may differ from state‑specific guidelines

If applicable to the position, a post offer fit for duty evaluation to ensure the individual can safely perform the essential functions of the role

Valid driver’s license

A satisfactory motor vehicle report (MVR)
