Position Overview Anderson Studio of Architecture & Design is seeking a Senior Architectural Technologist / Construction Documents Specialist to play a critical role in the technical execution of our high‑end custom residential projects. This is a senior‑level, individual‑contributor role focused on translating design intent into clear, coordinated, and buildable architectural documents. The position emphasizes technical judgment, constructability, and execution excellence rather than people management, client leadership, or project financial responsibility.
Core Responsibilities
Lead the technical development of architectural drawings through Design Development and Construction Documents
Produce clear, consistent, and well‑coordinated drawing sets suitable for permitting and construction
Develop detailed architectural assemblies that reflect design intent, constructability, and long‑term performance
Coordinate architectural scope with structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and specialty consultants
Identify and resolve conflicts between architectural intent and consultant systems
Anticipate constructability challenges and proactively propose technical solutions
Support construction‑phase documentation through RFI responses, submittal review, and technical clarification
Collaboration & Studio Integration
Work within project teams led by Project Managers
Collaborate closely with the Design Director to ensure faithful execution of design intent
Provide technical insight that supports documentation quality, clarity, and schedule predictability
Contribute to studio‑wide technical rigor through example, collaboration, and shared standards
Qualifications
Degree in architecture, architectural technology, engineering science, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 12 years of experience producing construction documents for custom residential or similarly complex projects
Demonstrated expertise in building assemblies, detailing, and consultant coordination
Proficiency in BIM‑based documentation workflows (ArchiCAD preferred; Revit acceptable)
Strong ability to visualize buildings in plan, section, and detail
High level of personal accountability, precision, and follow‑through

Clear, coordinated, and buildable construction documents
Reduced documentation‑related RFIs and late‑stage revisions
Reliable delivery of documentation milestones
Positive impact on project team efficiency, clarity, and predictability
Compensation & Benefits
Full‑time, exempt position
Salary commensurate with experience and demonstrated technical capability, ranging between $85,000 – $105,000
Eligibility for performance‑based bonuses
