$115,000.00/yr - $135,000.00/yr My client is a leading manufacturer of medical device components, renowned for exceptional quality across North America. The Operations Manager will lead manufacturing operations at their hub near Des Plaines, IL, driving production KPIs, safety, quality, delivery and cost objectives. Responsibilities
Oversee daily production operations to achieve Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost targets. Ensure schedule attainment and optimize labor and equipment utilization for maximum efficiency. Monitor and report on machine efficiency and production performance. Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory standards (e.g., FDA, ISO 13485). Collaborate with Quality and Engineering teams to implement process controls, reduce non-conformances, and improve product quality. Support audits and maintain documentation for regulatory compliance. Collect and analyze operational data to improve KPIs and support business objectives. Implement Lean and Operational Excellence tools to reduce downtime and optimize resources. Drive cost reduction initiatives and eliminate process redundancies. Champion a strong safety culture and lead risk mitigation efforts. Coordinate with production planning to align schedules and material requirements. Support new product introductions from concept to full-scale production. Mentor and develop supervisors and team leads to build leadership capability. Facilitate training programs to enhance team skills and engagement. Participate in strategic projects and initiatives that support organizational vision and goals. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field preferred. 5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience in a regulated environment (medical device preferred). Technical knowledge of precision machining processes (CNC milling, turning, grinding, EDM). Proven experience in operations management, capacity planning, and resource allocation. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies. Familiarity with FDA and ISO 13485 requirements preferred. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel required); ERP experience preferred. Lean Six Sigma Belt certification is a plus. Job Offer
Base salary ranging from $110,000 to $135,000 depending on experience level. 15% annual bonus incentive based on personal performance/site metrics. Comprehensive benefits package including BCBS health insurance, PTO, and 401k – eligible from day 1. 17 days PTO + 11 company holidays.
