Job Details We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a background in Civil Engineering to design, develop, and implement mechanical systems for civil engineering projects. The role requires expertise in mechanical design, HVAC systems, and CAD drafting, with the opportunity to work on high‑profile projects using cutting‑edge technology.
Responsibilities
Design and analyze mechanical systems, equipment, and packaging.
Conduct research to solve complex engineering problems through advanced mechanical theories.
Use CAD software to design and visualize projects effectively.
Develop, coordinate, and monitor all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and operations.
Apply HVAC principles and incorporate them into designs and implementations.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams and work with vendors and contractors.
Apply ASHRAE principles in the design and maintenance of HVAC systems.
Use Powergeopak, Openroads, and MicroStation for project design and implementation.
Design and oversee the installation of building systems and specification of maintenance procedures.
Utilize AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and CAD drafting in the design and implementation of mechanical systems.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and governmental regulations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design and engineering.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license in Illinois.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, CAD drafting, and Revit.
Experience with Powergeopak, Openroads, and MicroStation.
Extensive knowledge of HVAC systems and familiarity with ASHRAE standards.
Strong understanding of mechanical systems and piping design.
Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
