Job Description
Diagnose and treat human responses to physical and emotional health problems.
Apply the nursing process: assessment, identification of problems, planning and enactment of interventions, evaluation, and documentation.
Provide age-appropriate care for neonatal patients, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
Create a therapeutic climate, offer comfort measures, and provide information to patients and families.
Act as a teacher-coach: interpret patient condition and rationale for procedures, assess learning readiness, deliver standardized instruction, and document outcomes.
Respond rapidly to life‑threatening emergencies, initiating appropriate interventions and seeking assistance promptly.
Document changes in patient condition accurately, anticipating and negotiating interventions.
Administer medications safely and monitor therapeutic regimens.
Participate in quality improvement activities, including performance analysis meetings and unit standards maintenance.
Organize shift assignments and support staffing patterns in accordance with policy.
Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and ethical standards.
Qualifications &Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, licensed to practice in New Jersey (or eligible for licensure).
Prior clinical experience in neonatal, pediatric, or NICU settings preferred; at least 2–3 years in related units recommended.
BSN preferred, required within five years of hire.
National certification preferred; NRP required upon hire for experienced RNs, and within six months for new graduates. STABLE certification required within one year.
Demonstrated knowledge of safety, infection control, and emergency preparedness.
Strong communication, teamwork, and ethical practice.
