Duties
Join our team at an acute care hospital in beautiful Napa, CA.
As a Clinical Lab Scientist, you'll work in a dynamic environment with a dedicated team, ensuring the highest quality of laboratory services.
Responsibilities include specimen preparation, blood banking procedures, microbiology culture reading, urinalysis, hematology, and coagulation testing.
You will also be involved in specimen processing and handling, reporting test results, and maintaining quality assurance and controls.
Skills
Chemistry: Review & Interpretation of QC, Specimen Preparation
Blood Bank: ABO/Rh/Antibody Screen & ID, AHG Crossmatch, Antibody Typing, Blood banking procedures, Direct Coombs (DAT)
Specimen Processing/Handling: Accessioning, Pipetting, Reporting test results
Microbiology: Culture plating, Geographical considerations for bacteria identification, Gram Stain, Microbiology culture reading experience
Urinalysis: Analyzer, Crystal identification, Manual macroscopic UA, Microscopic UA
Hematology/Coagulation: Automated Instrument Use, CBC Manual, Fibrinogen, Manual Differential
Equipment: Beckman, CellaVision, Hitachi, Iris Cell
Professional Knowledge and Skills: Blood specimen storage, Hazardous materials and MSDS, Proper disposal, Quality assurance and controls
Immunology/Serology: Rapid test kits general use, knowledge of controls
Experience
Years of Experience: 1 year(s)
Trauma Level II Experience: Preferred
Certifications: ASCP-MLS* (preferred), State licensed
