Title Director of Nursing (DON) / Nursing Director
Location Bronx, NY (Onsite)
Schedule Monday–Friday, Full-Time
Salary $150k-$175k per annum + Benefits
About the Role We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Director of Nursing to lead clinical operations within a well-established community. The DON will oversee care delivery, regulatory compliance, nursing staff leadership, and quality outcomes to support a safe and resident‑centered environment.
This position is ideal for a nurse leader who enjoys direct engagement with residents, staff mentoring, and shaping clinical standards within a collaborative care setting.
Responsibilities
Provide overall leadership and direction for nursing and care teams.
Ensure high‑quality resident care and compliance with NYS regulatory standards.
Conduct initial and ongoing resident assessments and ensure accurate care documentation.
Develop and oversee individualized care plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary staff.
Support, train, coach, and evaluate nursing staff and care team members.
Serve as a clinical resource for residents, families, and staff.
Oversee incident reporting, quality improvement initiatives, and care policies.
Participate in on‑call and limited weekend rotation as needed.
Required Qualifications
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in New York State (required)
5+ years of nursing experience in Assisted Living, Home Care, Long‑Term Care, or related geriatric care
Minimum 3–4 years of nursing leadership (DON, ADON, Nurse Manager, or Supervisor)
Strong understanding of resident assessment, care planning, and regulatory compliance
Ability to lead, train, and motivate clinical staff
Solid documentation and communication skills
Preferred (Not Required)
BSN or higher
Experience overseeing medication management programs
Familiarity with EHR and Microsoft Office
