Job Summary & Responsibilities
Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate intervention.
Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s). Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Responds promptly to patient requests and anticipates needs to resolve proactively.
Teaches patients/families/caregivers about medical condition, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures; translates complex terminology for understanding.
Educates on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes; prepares for self‑management.
Qualifications
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
Registered Nurse (RN) credential.
Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
Must have ED RN experience.

We offer a full range of services including a birthing center, cardiac catheterization lab, cancer care, and breast center. The emergency room at the main hospital and the freestanding ER at Darwin Square are designed with special populations in mind.
