Job Summary And Qualifications Dispenses medication and maintains dispensing records, monitors drug therapy, and provides drug information for patients and staff of the institution. Fosters the development and growth of a safety culture in the department.
What you will do in this role:
Enter or verify physician orders in computer system.
Screen and check for patient allergies, drug interactions, appropriate dosing during medication order entry process.
Review patient drug profile and monitor drug therapy when processing a new medication order.
Provide drug information and answer drug‑related questions to other health care providers and patients.
Check and approve IVs and medications prepared and filled by pharmacy technicians before dispensing.
Perform clinical and kinetic/renal dosing activity assignments.
Carry out approved drug therapy protocols.
Perform monthly nursing unit inspections.
Exhibit teamwork by offering assistance to others when own work is done, or asking for assistance when unable to complete assigned work.
Demonstrate good time management by prioritizing tasks to be done, avoiding non‑work distractions.
What qualifications you will need:
Pharmacist
Bachelor’s Degree, or Doctorate Degree, or Pharmacy Practice Residency - PGY1
