Role Overview We are seeking a
Trademark Paralegal II
in our Washington, DC office who utilizes knowledge of trademark legal concepts and procedures needed to assist attorneys and other staff members in monitoring deadlines, preparing filings, managing correspondence and client/vendor invoices.
Responsibilities
Prepare and file USPTO and TTAB documents, including pleadings, correspondence, and prosecution filings
Manage deadlines for domestic and international trademark matters, ensuring timely execution and follow‑up
Conduct trademark clearance searches and analyze results for potential conflicts
Coordinate with international counsel and draft correspondence related to global trademark filings
Review and reconcile client and vendor bills for accuracy and compliance with firm/client guidelines
Assist with document productions, including coordinating attorney review and working with vendors
Maintain litigation directories, deposition files, and databases; organize materials and create exhibit lists
Support deposition and trial preparation, including witness coordination and attendance at proceedings
Assist with court filings, including cite checking, Bluebook citation review, and assembling exhibits
Perform factual and legal research using online databases and other resources
Conduct product and company investigations and draft findings for trademark enforcement
Stay current on trademark laws, TTAB procedures, litigation practices, and emerging technologies
Participate in training, cross‑training, and skill development initiatives
Embrace new technologies and processes to meet client demands as they evolve
Provide guidance and act as a resource to junior Trademark Paralegals, Trademark Research Paralegals, and other staff as needed
Assume progressive responsibilities within assigned work as experience is gained in the position
Assist with department projects as needed and perform other work‑related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of related experience required. Paralegal Certificate from an ABA‑approved school preferred.
4+ years relevant experience in trademark and copyright matters required; litigation and TTAB experience a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the litigation process and e‑discovery. Trial experience is a plus.
Demonstrated knowledge of e‑discovery concepts such as litigation holds, preservation of data and chain of custody.
Knowledge of TTAB and court procedures, methods and practices, and their applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite required, experience with database programs and document management systems a plus.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
Capability to maintain an extensive docket and manage multiple projects.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and work well under deadlines

The base annual pay range for this role is between $85,000 - $100,000. The base pay to be offered will vary and depend on skills and qualifications, experience, location and will also take into account internal equity.
