The Director of Professional Development is responsible for managing event conferences, including the Spring, Fall, and Leadership Development Conferences. The Professional Development Manager also oversees a Continuing Education (CE) program in conjunction with the CE Reviewers. This position will also serve as a liaison to the Conference Committee, the Continuing Education Committee, the Research Committee, and the Political Action Committee. This individual shall manage multiple projects while working with minimal supervision in a deadline‑driven and customer‑service‑oriented environment. Key Responsibilities

Conference and Event Oversight

Manage the conferences outlined above, including the educational programming delivery, program logistics, encompassing room layouts, audiovisual/technical requirements, speaker contracts, and food/beverage needs. Coordinate RFP process, site inspections, program budgets, promotional materials, program planning, and post‑conference evaluation. Market and sell exhibitor booths and sponsorships for all conferences. Communicate with event speakers to ensure all aspects of their presentation are fulfilled. Work with staff to coordinate the registration process for events, including the creation of online forms for registration purposes. Direct all member communications efforts with the Member Engagement Specialist, including calls for abstracts and calls for presentations. Serve as staff liaison to committees, as directed above. Facilitate other events as directed. Continuing Education

Supervise the CE application portal process for efficiency and interact proactively with applicants to obtain the required information. Respond to questions relative to CE, licensure, membership, events, etc., while providing exceptional customer service. Maintain the online CE listing of approved and denied courses, including current contact information, expiration dates, and number of CEUs provided. Troubleshoot database issues and coordinate expeditious solutions. Serve as staff liaison to committees, as directed above. Attend State Licensure Board meetings as needed. Research Committee

Assist in advancing the goals of the committee while communicating needs to the board liaison and staff. Serve as staff liaison to committees, as directed above. Political Action Committee

Coordinate the fundraising activities in conjunction with the Executive Director. Manage database and file appropriate and timely reports with the Tennessee Secretary of State’s Office. Financial and Administrative

Process checks, credit card payments, and invoices as needed. Maintain the PAC QuickBooks account and provide oversight to the contracted CPA as necessary. Other duties as directed by the Executive Director. Other

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and knowledge of membership database programs. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to multitask, work effectively independently, and as a member of a team. Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends. Ability to perform work that requires frequent standing, bending, reaching, squatting, kneeling, moving. Preferred Qualifications

Meeting planning experience with the hospitality industry. Demonstrated project management skills. Knowledge of sound financial practices and accounting software. Measurement

The Director of Professional Development shall meet on an annual basis, or more frequently if necessary, with the Executive Director to determine appropriate measurement tools for achievement of annual goals. Salary

Salary/Hourly Range from $23 to $28 an hour based on Experience. Seniority Level
