General Summary Community College of Denver seeks a motivated, proactive, and creative Digital and Social Media Coordinator to support the strategic execution of digital marketing and communications. Under the guidance of the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role advances CCD’s digital presence across social media platforms, supports paid digital advertising campaigns, and captures content, including photography and video at key on‑and off‑campus events.

Responsibilities

Social & Digital Media Coordination: Manage content creation, coordination, and distribution across CCD’s social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, TikTok, YouTube) for owned and paid campaigns, ensuring alignment with CCD’s brand and engagement focus.

Editorial Calendar: Contribute to the MarCom editorial calendar; add events to the website calendar and editorial calendar as needed for CCD events.

Monitor Social Engagement: Monitor and respond to social engagement, tags, comments, and inquiries in a consistent, professional manner.

Trend, Research and Best Practice Awareness: Stay up to date on platform trends, policy changes, and engagement tactics.

Digital Advertising, Measurement & Reporting: Work with director, stakeholders, and agencies to develop, execute and distribute digital communication campaigns; track and analyze performance metrics across social media, provide monthly reports with insights and recommendations.

Event Support & Content Capture: Support campus and community events, capturing video, photography and live content for promotion; coordinate content needs with event organizers.

Website & Calendar Updates: Update CCD’s online events, occasional landing pages and web pages for accurate promotion; collaborate with MarCom and IT to maintain brand, accessibility and user experience standards.

Strategic Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support: Partner with content owners across the college to source content, support campaigns, amplify student success stories and coordinate with external vendors.

Emergency Communications Support: Provide urgent or emergency communications on CCD’s social media platforms; participate in emergency communication protocols and remain available outside of standard business hours.

Brand Stewardship & Campaign Support: Ensure consistency in visual identity, tone, accessibility, and message across all digital assets; coordinate content that supports institutional campaigns; maintain folder of all social media communications and reports by channel.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media, journalism, advertising, or related field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in digital marketing, content creation or communications; experience within higher education is preferred.

Experience coordinating digital campaigns, social media platforms or content calendars for an organization.

Proficiency with tools such as ASANA, Google Ads, Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite; experience with MailChimp and Canva is a plus.

Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail and visual consistency.

Knowledge of SEO, accessibility standards and digital content best practices.

Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.

Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

Flexibility and responsiveness during urgent or off‑hours communication needs.

Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Experience managing social media ad budgets of more than $3,000 a month is a plus.

Photography and video capture/editing experience is preferred.
