POSITION SUMMARY & RESPONSIBILITIES This position will be key in building relationships with stakeholders, monitoring state legislative and regulatory changes, and managing state association partnerships. This role is vital for ensuring Diversified Energy’s success in navigating complex regulations, influencing policy, and maintaining a strong presence in state capitals. States included: Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

Special focus to be placed on:

Legislative Monitoring & Analysis : Regularly track legislative and regulatory developments in the Central region, particularly in energy, environmental, and utility policies.

Building Relationships : Develop and maintain strong relationships with elected officials, legislative staff, regulatory agencies, and industry influencers across Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

State Association Management : Act as the company’s representative to state-level trade associations and policy groups, fostering collaboration and positioning Diversified Energy as a leader in policy development.

Advocacy & Representation : Advocate on behalf of Diversified Energy’s positions on key policy issues, working alongside internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and strategic messaging. Organize field tours for elected officials and regulators for educational purposes.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

Minimum of 7 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or regulatory affairs, preferably within the energy sector.

Strong understanding of the legislative and regulatory processes in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Wyoming.

Proven ability to develop and maintain relationships with state legislators, regulatory agencies, and industry stakeholders.

Effective communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and collaborate effectively with internal teams.

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

An advanced degree (e.g., JD, MBA, MPA), a plus.

Office Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Prolonged periods working at a desk in front of a computer.

Additional Requirements

Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.

The base pay range for this position is $130,000 - $150,000/yr. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors, including but not limited to a candidate’s qualifications, location, experience, and alignment with the job requirements. The range listed is just one component of Diversified Energy’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives.
