Offer Description We are seeking a highly motivated and talented candidate for a Researcher position in the Nanobiotechnology Group at IMDEA Nanociencia. The selected candidate will join our dynamic team working on the design, synthesis, and characterization of functional nanoparticles and nucleic acid-based systems for nanomedicine applications.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research at the intersection of organic synthesis, nucleic acid chemistry, and nanotechnology, with direct applications in biomedical innovation.
Main functions
Synthesis and optimization of complex organic molecules and nanoparticle systems
Design and synthesis of DNA and RNA on solid phase platforms
Development and synthesis of linkers and functional connectors for nanoparticle modification
Functionalization and chemical coating of nanoparticles for biomedical applications
Preparation, modification, and surface engineering of nanoparticles
Characterization and evaluation of modified nanoparticles using analytical and biophysical techniques
Cell culture-based assays for biocompatibility and functional assessment
Contribution to peer-reviewed publications, patents, and presentations at international conferences
Collaboration with multidisciplinary research teams
Requirements
PhD in Chemistry, Pharmacy, or closely related fields
Demonstrated experience in the synthesis of complex organic molecules and their characterization
Proven expertise in solid-phase nucleic acid synthesis (DNA/RNA)
Hands-on laboratory experience in cell culture techniques
Experience in preparation and chemical modification of nanoparticles
Proficiency in analytical chemistry and characterization techniques (HPLC, mass spectrometry, NMR, etc.)
Trained in laboratory quality systems
Fluent written and spoken communication skills in English and Spanish
Strong teamwork capabilities, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple tasks
Cover letter (in English or Spanish) highlighting motivation, relevant experience, and alignment with the position.
Updated Curriculum Vitae, including publication list and contact information for 2–3 references.
