Network Administrator, Washington DC Area SysArc is a fast-growing IT Managed Service Provider based in the DC area looking for an experienced Network Administrator/Engineer to join our team. We are one of the few MSP’s in the market with a mature cybersecurity practice that has been fully operational for several years. We have developed vertical market expertise within the Aerospace & Defense industry and are one of the leaders in DFARS/NIST 800-171/CMMC compliance solutions and are expecting this market to substantially accelerate over the next several years.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of tier II or higher technical experience and a proven track record of excellent customer service. We are looking for somebody who is organized and enthusiastic about implementing our process to create a successful, efficient environment for our customers operations.

Primary Responsibilities

Be a technical resource for escalated issues from Support Desk technicians.

Establish network specifications by conferring with users, analyzing workflow, access information, and security requirements.

Design router administration, including interface configuration and routing protocols.

Establish network by evaluating performance issues including availability, utilization, throughput, and latency.

Define network policies and procedures.

Establish connections and firewalls.

Manage all clients’ Hardware and Software Vendors. Serve as the primary technical contact on behalf of the customer.

Maintain network performance through network monitoring and analysis, performance tuning, troubleshooting network problems, and escalating problems to vendor.

Document and upload all changes made to the network (LAN/WAN) to the documentation database including network diagrams.

Document internal process and procedures to create “how to” write-ups.

Conduct onsite trainings requested by the client.

Manage LANs, WANs, network/telecom devices, Internet, and intranet systems for clients.

Identify user needs (software and hardware) and make recommendation to the VCIO.

Determine network and system requirements and make recommendation to the VCIO.

Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.

Maintain and administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, VPN, PDAs, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

Have experience working with ConnectWise, Windows Servers OS, IT Glue, Virtualization (Vmware/ Hyper-V), DNS/DHCP, and Microsoft Azure.

Be available for the After-hour On-Call schedules including 1 weekend every 8 weeks.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, systems engineering, cybersecurity, information technology, or related field.

Minimum of 3-5 years of experience.

Teamwork, Customer Service, and an innate desire for constant improvement.
