Job Title: Data Analyst – Data Engineering Projects
Location: Tampa, FL (Onsite)
Role Overview We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst to support data engineering initiatives by translating business requirements into analytical insights and data specifications. The role focuses on working closely with data engineers, architects, and stakeholders to ensure high-quality data ingestion, transformation, validation, and consumption across enterprise data platforms.
The Data Analyst will play a critical role in ensuring data clarity, accuracy, consistency, and usability across complex data pipelines and analytics solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document data and reporting requirements, including catalog data fields used in dashboards and reports.
Work closely with data engineers and data architects to define source-to-target mappings and transformation logic.
Perform data profiling, data quality analysis, and validation across multiple source systems.
Support the design and testing of data pipelines, ensuring data accuracy from ingestion through downstream analytics layers.
Develop and maintain structured data dictionary, data definitions, business rules, and metadata documentation.
Create functional specifications and support technical design reviews for data engineering solutions.
Assist with UAT planning and execution, including test case creation and defect validation.
Analyze large datasets using SQL and analytical tools to identify trends, anomalies, and insights.
Support production data issues by performing root cause analysis and recommending corrective actions.
Ensure alignment between business needs and technical data models.
Required Qualifications
4+ years of experience as a Data Analyst supporting data engineering or data platform projects.
Strong proficiency in SQL and experience working with large, complex datasets.
Hands‑on experience with data profiling, data quality checks, and data validation.
Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT pipelines, and dimensional modeling.
Experience working with cloud‑based data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Azure Synapse).
Ability to work closely with data engineers and technical teams.
Strong documentation, analytical, and communication skills.
Nice‑to‑Have Skills
Experience with data transformation and orchestration tools (e.g., dbt, Airflow, Talend, Informatica).
Familiarity with BI and visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker).
Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Knowledge of Agile / Scrum delivery methodologies.
Experience in regulated or enterprise environments.
