Senior Python Developer / Lead (Fixed Income / Capital Markets)
Location: New York City, NY (in-person interview)
Duration: long term
Position type: W2 contract; daily rate position. Requires in-person for 2nd round of interview. Locals needed.
Vendor software: PyXLL, QuestDB, ArconTech, Databricks.
Responsibilities
Design and implement Python solutions for Front Office applications, utilizing vendor software.
Support existing applications for daily operations of the Front Office Trading Desk, troubleshooting issues, optimizing performance, and implementing new features aligned with business strategies.
Collaborate with quantitative analysts and traders to ensure applications meet their needs and enhance productivity.
Duties
Design, build, and configure Python applications based on business processes and requirements.
Ensure code is efficient, maintainable, and adheres to best practices.
Collaborate with trading and quantitative analysts to understand workflows and requirements.
Participate in meetings, feedback sessions, and iterative development cycles.
Provide work estimates and communicate changes to project managers.
Develop coding architecture, selecting design patterns and documenting for future reference.
Maintain code quality using static/dynamic analyses, security scans, coverage, CI/CD gating, code reviews, automated testing, and continuous integration.
Engage in all phases of the software delivery lifecycle, from analysis to post-deployment support.
Required Skills
Experienced Python Developer.
Experience installing Python environments on Windows and Linux.
Preferred Skills
.NET, C#.
REST API with enterprise authentication.
MS SQL Server and/or Sybase.
Experience supporting trading desks.
Education
Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, engineering, or computer science.
