Position Summary The Senior Data Analyst plays a key role in providing financial insights, conducting analysis, and developing models to support decision‑making and drive departmental objectives. The role focuses on budgeting, strategic planning, data management, financial and operational reporting, and analytical support for the Child and Adolescent Psychiatry department. Working as part of a dynamic analytics team, you will analyze data from various sources to measure performance, identify opportunities, and deliver actionable insights. This role also involves building and maintaining internal data infrastructure, creating dashboards, and using programming languages such as JavaScript to streamline workflows and enhance reporting capabilities.
Job Responsibilities
Cross‑collaborate with internal and external teams to analyze large data sets, build new models and metrics, identify trends, and develop work plans with management.
Lead financial and reporting support to mission areas to achieve financial and operational goals, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
Develop and implement advanced policies, procedures, and systems governing financial functions to ensure robust internal controls and maximize operational efficiency.
Provide comprehensive ad‑hoc financial and operational analysis for special projects, identifying opportunities with Practice Operations, Credentialing, and Managed Care.
Produce detailed budget reports and financial updates for internal stakeholders, including senior management and faculty.
Prepare complex financial statements and internal/external reporting in compliance with US GAAP, US government, and other applicable regulations.
Lead high‑impact special projects to evaluate clinical complex data, delivering insightful reports and recommendations.
Support the training of junior analysts and align them to the team’s goals and objectives.
Collaborate with Service Directors, Administrators, and senior management to develop and implement strategies for improving financial and operational performance.
Conduct in‑depth root‑cause analysis to determine collections delays and inaccuracies; summarize findings in a clear, digestible format for leadership, providing thoughtful recommendations.
Maintain departmental clinical databases and monitor budgets monthly to review for variances, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Measure clinical performance, identify areas for improvement, and lead the management of project initiatives to drive operational excellence.
Lead the development and submission of annual budgets, multi‑year projections, and long‑range financial plans, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Support the finances invoicing process and reconcile pending payments from various stakeholders.
Monitor personnel allocations across departmental chart fields and submit changes to ensure optimal resource utilization.
Manage the CSC procurement process, troubleshoot purchasing and Accounts Payable issues to ensure seamless operations.
Generate and distribute comprehensive monthly reports to clinicians, representing collections, AR, and productivity, providing actionable insights.
Monitor collections activity, reconcile gaps, and ensure clinicians are paid correctly, maintaining high standards of accuracy and timeliness.
Prepare clinical supplemental payroll and ensure timely submission for monthly payments to providers, maintaining compliance with organizational policies.
Provide exceptional customer service to clinicians regarding payroll submissions and follow‑up questions, ensuring satisfaction and resolution of issues.
Minimum Qualifications •
Bachelor’s Degree. • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications • Strong technical skills, including Excel proficiency and familiarity with querying and data structure. • Familiarity with Enterprise Systems, Accounting and Financial principles. • Effective time‑management and deadline‑setting skills. • Good judgment and ability to prioritize work. • Commitment to Continuous Improvement practices. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to summarize analytical findings and provide recommendations in a digestible format for senior leadership. • Demonstrates accountability, ethicality, and the ability to establish and maintain strong relationships. • Works collaboratively and is a collegial team player.
