Project Engineer (Electrical engineering background prefer)
The Planet Group is offering a Project Engineer position.
Base pay range $39.00/hr - $43.00/hr
Job Title : Project Engineer (Electrical engineering background prefer)
Qualifications and Responsibilities
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an ABET accredited program OR Engineering degree from a non-ABET accredited program plus a Professional Engineering license
7 - 10 years Experience as a Program Engineering, working in advanced projects
Analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent knowledge of design and visualizations software such as AutoCAD
Proficient in MS Office, with aptitude for learning new software
Written and verbal communication skills
Organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong understanding of engineering
Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
Knowledge of Project Management Information Systems such as Unifier and Document Control tools such as Project Wise is not a requirement but a plus.
Knowledge of Project Management principles and skills is a plus.
An Electrical Engineering background is preferred, but not required.
Understanding and experience in contract management
Experience in the management of engineering contracts and engineering deliverables
Build strong partnerships with business partners and deeply understand their business goals. Interact with clients, interpreting their needs and requirements, and representing them in the field
Monitor compliance to applicable codes, practices, QA/QC policies, performance standards and specifications
Other duties as assigned or may be necessary
Perform quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance and reporting on the project's status
Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor the assigned engineering projects. Assign responsibilities and mentor project team
Provide assistance and technical support to project managers and other project participants and collaborate with senior engineers to create more efficient project methods and to maintain the project's profitability
Review engineering deliverables and initiate appropriate corrective actions. Review the engineering tasks and initiate the necessary corrective actions
Support the Agile project delivery cadence by helping balance team performance with tight deadlines. Develop specifications for the project's needed equipment
