This role supports the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of the HIM module within the Epic electronic health record (EHR) system. Responsibilities include analyzing current HIM workflows, developing and implementing new processes, providing training and support to end‑users, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulatory requirements, and acting as a liaison between the HIM department and the Epic implementation team.
Base Pay Range $85,862.40 / yr – $137,384.00 / yr

Primary Function The primary function of the HIM Analyst is to support the design, build, configuration, testing, implementation, and optimization of the HIM module within the Epic EHR system, ensuring efficient and compliant operations.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Epic implementation team to configure and optimize the HIM module.
Analyze current HIM workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
Develop and document new HIM workflows, policies, and procedures.
Participate in system design, build, and testing activities to ensure accurate configuration.
Conduct data migration and conversion activities, ensuring data integrity and accuracy.
Provide training and support to end‑users, including HIM staff, clinicians, and administrative personnel.
Develop training materials, user guides, and documentation.
Monitor and troubleshoot HIM process issues within the Epic system.
Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulatory requirements.
Participate in project meetings, providing updates on progress, challenges, and solutions.
Act as a liaison between the HIM department and the Epic implementation team.
Assist in developing reports and dashboards to monitor HIM metrics.
Stay updated on changes in regulations and standards that impact HIM processes and Epic functionality.
Education and Experience Requirements
Minimum bachelor’s degree in Healthcare, Information Technology, or a related field (or higher preferred).
2–3 years of experience working with Epic systems or similar EHR platforms required.
High school diploma with 5 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
Knowledge of HIM processes.
Epic HIM Certification preferred for external candidates.
Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements
Familiarity with HIM processes such as chart correction, release of information, deficiency tracking, and coding.
Understanding of scanning and indexing workflows and confidentiality & privacy guidelines.
Familiarity with HL7 interfaces (ADT, ORM, ORU).
Excellent problem‑solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to coordinate complex tasks across multiple projects.
Provide training and support to end‑users.
Create and maintain detailed documentation of system configurations and workflows.
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans.
Analyze current HIM workflows, identify improvement opportunities, and recommend optimization strategies.
Work independently and as part of a team.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Prior software implementation experience preferred, including support for 3rd‑party vendor integrations in the HIM, coding, and CDI space.
Experience supporting EDCO Solarity, Dolbey Fusion, RightFax, and Verisma VRM software platforms is preferred.
Annual Compensation Range: $85,862.40 – $137,384.00.
