SENIOR IT ARCHITECT – 95711 DCAS's mission is to make city government work for all New Yorkers. Recruiting, hiring, and training City employees.

Managing 55 public buildings.

Acquiring, selling, and leasing City property.

Purchasing over $1 billion in goods and services for City agencies.

Overseeing the greenest municipal vehicle fleet in the country.

Leading the City's efforts to reduce carbon emissions from government operations.

The Department of Citywide Administrative Services Information Technology Line of Service (IT) provides technological guidance within the agency by establishing and directing the strategic and tactical goals, policies, and procedures. IT collaborates and consults with all Lines of Services to exchange information, present new approaches and discuss system changes and enhancements. The candidate will assist with the Provision and Support of Enterprise & Cloud Infrastructure Projects.

Responsibilities

Administration of the Azure DCAS environment.

Work with DoITT cloud and other technical teams for technical support and issues.

Work with project teams to gather requirements.

Implement best practice for cloud implementation and maintenance.

Implement security and governance as per DCAS & NYC guidelines.

Support the Azure environment for various projects.

Flexible Work Update This position may be eligible for remote work up to two days per week, pursuant to the Remote Work Pilot Program agreed to between the City and DC37.

Minimum Qualifications

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college in computer science, information systems, engineering, mathematics or related field and six years of satisfactory full‑time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems.

A baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and ten years of satisfactory full‑time experience related to enterprise architecture, solutions architecture, network architecture and/or IT infrastructure systems.

Education and/or experience which is equivalent to “1” or “2” above.

Preferred Skills

Developing cloud adoption strategy – Migration, automation, and auto‑scaling resources – Deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of applications.

Networking, cloud infrastructure components and configuration.

Experience with Azure PowerShell & CLI.

Infrastructure provisioning using ARM templates.

Windows & Linux System Admin.

Implement governance, policies & security.

Defining roles and segregation of duties.

Document & guide in-house staff.

Azure Solutions Architect certification.
