Manager, Supply Chain (Remote from North Carolina)
We are currently looking for a Manager, Supply Chain in North Carolina. In this role, you will lead and oversee all supply chain activities, including procurement, sourcing, inventory management, and vendor relations, for a manufacturing facility. You will work closely with operations, forecasting, and sales teams to ensure materials and products are available to meet customer demands while optimizing cost and efficiency. The position requires strategic planning, project execution, and team leadership to improve supply chain performance.
Accountabilities
Lead end-to-end supply chain projects including purchasing, sourcing, vendor management, planning, and job scheduling to support sales and growth initiatives
Develop and implement integrated supply chain strategies for manufacturing, inventory optimization, and supplier quality
Set supplier KPIs covering delivery, quality, inventory levels, and responsiveness, and communicate standards to vendors
Manage day-to-day activities of buyer planners, ensuring timely release, processing, and closure of jobs
Oversee non-maintenance material requisitions (MRO) and ensure ERP systems comply with required standards
Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) to align procurement, planning, and sales objectives
Establish supplier development programs, manage contracts, tooling, prototypes, and foster supplier alliances for cost reduction
Coach, mentor, and evaluate team members, ensuring adherence to company policies and operational standards
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Engineering
10+ years of supply chain or logistics management experience in a manufacturing environment
Strong knowledge of Material Requirements Planning (MRP/MRPII) and ERP systems; Epicor experience preferred
Proven leadership, analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication abilities
Ability to travel approximately 5% for supplier visits or trade shows
Preferred: experience in welding/fabrication manufacturing environments
