Neurosurgery - Nurse Practitioner (APRN) or Physician Assistant

Shift:
Mon‑Fri, full‑time four 10‑hour shifts. Hours may vary depending on case load.
Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is one of the largest medical practices in New England with multiple locations throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. Our neurosurgery team provides primary care, urgent care, and more than 30 specialties, including advanced cranial and spine surgeries.
Advanced Providers Role Scope
Unique 1:1 training with a neurosurgeon.
Growth and development opportunities.
Both clinic and operating room (1st Assist) time.
Work with a team of advanced practitioners with extensive neurosurgery experience.
Participate in work‑up, planning, and surgical procedures including advanced cranial and spine surgeries (craniotomies for epilepsy, tumors, trauma, and complex/deformity spine cases). Established practice and staff who take time with their patients.

Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant / Nurse Practitioner Master’s program preferred.
Licensed, or eligible to be licensed, as a Physician Assistant / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) in Connecticut.
Certification or eligible to be certified as a Physician Assistant or National Board Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
RNFA (Registered Nurse First Assist) certification required for APRN.
Preferred >1‑year experience as a Surgical Physician Assistant in a Neurosurgery or Orthopedic setting; 1st Assist in OR preferred.
