role at

CreateMe We are building advanced automation manufacturing methods for the apparel industry, driving better economic and environmental outcomes across the $1.7T apparel market. Our technology unlocks on‑shore, on‑demand apparel manufacturing with a unique systems‑based approach combining automation hardware, adhesive seam assembly, and proprietary robotic automation software. In short, we make clothes with robots and replace thread with glue. Role Overview

CreateMe is seeking an Engineering Technician with strong electrical and wiring expertise to support the development, integration and continuous improvement of our next‑generation automated apparel assembly systems. You will work hands‑on with prototype machinery, electro‑mechanical subsystems, control panels, sensors, motion components and custom tooling—helping the engineering team diagnose issues, optimize designs and push our automation platform toward commercialization. Responsibilities

Electrical & Controls (Primary Focus)

Assemble, wire, route and terminate electrical panels, prototype control boxes, junctions and harnesses following engineering schematics. Troubleshoot electrical issues (power, signal, grounding, noise, sensor wiring, motor drivers, PLC/IPC‑connected components). Test, validate and document electrical subsystem performance, including suggested wiring or hardware improvements. Support electrical safety, labeling, organization and preventive maintenance of prototype automation systems. Prototype System Operation & Debug

Operate prototype automation equipment, log system behaviour and identify repeatable bugs, gaps or failure modes. Collect, organise and present experiment data—photos, wiring notes, test logs, parameter sets, timing data—for engineering debug and root‑cause analysis. Assist in system bring‑up for new prototypes, including alignment, calibration and integration of updated components. Mechanical, Electro‑Mechanical and General Lab Support

Perform routine maintenance on R&D equipment, maintain logs, identify needed spare parts and track inventory. Create or update SOPs, maintenance instructions, wiring diagrams and troubleshooting guides. Assist with technician‑level mechanical build tasks (mounting hardware, panel layout, fasteners, brackets, cable routing). Support quality, safety and lab operations standards at all times. Required Qualifications

AS degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation or related field or equivalent hands‑on industry experience. Strong wiring experience: control panels, low‑voltage systems, sensors, motor drivers, power distribution and cable management. Experience troubleshooting electro‑mechanical systems, including reading schematics, interpreting electrical drawings and using diagnostic tools (DMMs, continuity testers, oscilloscopes—basic level). Hands‑on experience operating, maintaining or repairing automated or semi‑automated machinery. Ability to run experiments, follow test procedures, capture accurate data and communicate findings clearly. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools and measurement equipment. Comfortable in a fast‑paced R&D environment; able to work independently and collaborate effectively with engineers. Ability to stand for extended periods, climb/stoop/push/pull, perform repetitive tasks and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Preferred Qualifications

BSEET, BSMET or similar. Experience with industrial electrical control systems, wiring best practices and panel build standards. Familiarity with sensors, motion components, PLC/IPC control, robotics or electro‑adhesive/automation systems. Basic understanding of mechanical design, fabrication processes, tolerances, and prototyping workflows, including 3D printing. Experience with CAD or ECAD tools (SolidWorks, Onshape, AutoCAD Electrical). Experience documenting ECOs, assemblies or prototype updates in an engineering environment. Prior work in R&D, early‑stage hardware development or fast‑moving prototype shops. Working at CreateMe
