Description Job Summary:
HPU is seeking Adjunct Nursing faculty in all areas and specialties. Applications from other clinical nursing specialties are always welcome for consideration. There are opportunities to teach courses based on skill level and departmental needs.
Positions are filled on a term basis to fill the changing needs of the nursing department. Courses, clinicals and laboratory experiences are offered days, weekends and evenings to meet the needs of the University, our students and our community partners.

Compensation $3,000 per credit - Masters/Doctorate prepared
$2,800 per credit - BSN prepared
This is an in‑person teaching position, dependent on course enrollment.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate or higher degree in nursing. Degree must be granted by institutions accredited by one of the six regional accrediting agencies in the United States or from another country by the Ministry of Education or comparable body in that country.
Clinical experience of at least 2 years in the area of clinical teaching
A current and unencumbered Hawaii Registered Nurse license.
Desired Qualifications
A graduate degree in nursing with a relevant and recent clinical (2000 hours) experience within the last 5 years.
Applicants also need to fulfill one or more of the following three additional criteria:
6000 or more hours of clinical experience within the last 5 years providing direct patient care, direct patient care experience must be congruent with the proposed teaching assignment. (2000 hours = one year of FT employment)
Current Nursing Certification aligned with the proposed clinical area of the teaching assignment
Minimum two years of clinical teaching experience (18 months) within the last 5 years with BSN and/or ADN students. This teaching experience must be in an area consistent with the new/proposed teaching assignment.
Other Qualifications
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position.
Experience working effectively with those of other cultures and backgrounds, including the commitment to building a culturally diverse educational environment.
Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU's winter break, if necessary.
Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.
Upon hire, candidate must have reliable personal transportation to facilitate travel between all HPU worksites and other locations as required by the position.
Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends.
Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu.
Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that utilize excellent time and stress management skills.
Must submit a tuberculosis clearance upon hire.
