WSP is currently seeking a
Transmission Line Engineer
to work in the Power Delivery Overhead Transmission Line Department based in our
Minneapolis, Minnesota
office location. This opportunity offers the ability to work remotely based on a mutually acceptable location within the state of Minnesota. Employees may travel to the POWER office for periodic meetings.
Your Impact Roles and Responsibilities
Prepare and review engineering deliverables in support of overhead transmission line projects:
PLS-CADD model
PLS-POLE models
Project design criteria
Steel pole loading calculations and drawings
Engineering drawings and specifications
Foundation designs and drawings
Bill of materials
Provide mentorship and guidance to others. Perform detailed engineering reviews of the work submitted by others
Coordinate regularly with the Project Engineer to ensure project scope, budget, and quality expectations are met
Who You Are Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
Experience in the design of overhead High Voltage and Extra High Voltage transmission lines including route selection, conductor, OHGW and OPGWselection, line and structure spotting, structure design and analysis, foundation design and analysis, procurement specification development and development of construction bid packages
PLS-CADD / PLS-POLE experience
Foundation design experience using industry software (RISA, L-PILE, FAD etc.)
3-5 years of experience in transmission line design as outlined above
The candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to communicate effectively with internal team members and external client personnel
Experience using the Microsoft Office software suite
Preferred Qualifications
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification
Professional Engineering license (PE)
Masters Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
Distribution/underbuild design experience
Managerial and leadership skills
