Description
We are currently looking for a qualified RF Electrical Engineer to join our team. Schedule is full‑time, Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 5:30pm. Radiant Power Corp. delivers the highest levels of quality and reliability from our full range of aerospace products. We provide a wide variety of emergency power supplies, power distribution and control sub‑systems, flight deck sensors and instruments, a full suite of passenger comfort/cabin products, AeroELT Emergency Locator Transmitters and our Dukane‑Seacom Underwater Locator Beacons. Qualifications B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering
Analog and digital electrical circuit design and development
PCB layout reviews
Design for EMC and thermal performance
Electrical circuit specification development
Product testing/validation methods
Production test equipment specification and development
Experience with schematic capture tools (Altium, Or‑Cad, etc.)
Hardware/Software integration
Databus communications (ARINC 429, RS 232/422/485, CAN)
Aviation qualification standard, RTCA/DO‑160
Product and software specifications
Prior experience developing and supporting RF ground engineering activities for a satellite communications system
Experience using Spectrum Analyzers, Network Analyzers, Signal Generators and Oscilloscopes
Experience with RF engineering developing and maintaining schematics, analysis, block diagrams, system Bill of Materials (BOMs), and design review packages
Understanding of basic RF circuits and components such as: up/down‑converter, amplifier, power splitter/divider, couplers, mixer, filters and their applications
Hands‑on experience in bread‑boarding, testing of RF circuits as well as troubleshooting effectively to isolate failures to root cause
Experience generating, analyzing, tracking, and managing requirements
Excellent analytical, design, time management, written, communication and documentation skills
Working knowledge of MS Office Suite
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Read/Write Fluently in English
Must be well‑organized, flexible and able to work in a fast‑paced, manufacturing environment
Sustained dependable attendance
Cooperation with others in team environment for cross training and conference on operational issues
Initiative in learning and changing work methods to accomplish assigned tasks on a timely basis
Travel, up to 10%
Responsibilities
The RF Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of microprocessor‑based aviation power distribution and cabin control products. General duties include:
Design and implement solid state power control systems, cabin control products, and data acquisition devices.
Write technical documents including software requirements, hardware design descriptions, and hardware verification procedures and reports.
Conduct peer reviews of designs.
Perform hardware verification and validation activities.
Prepare and present technical design reviews both internally and externally.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
Regularly required to sit for long periods of time; walk up and down stairs; talk or hear; regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus. Noise level is usually moderate.
