Mechanical Engineer – Instrumentation (NPI + Sustaining)
Yoh is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our biotech instrumentation client, supporting new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining engineering efforts for their state-of-the-art platforms.

Responsibilities
Support mechanical design efforts for NPI and sustaining engineering projects, including development, verification, validation, and production transfer.
Work with R&D, manufacturing, and service teams to bring new instrument platforms from prototype to production.
Assist in design updates by analyzing field issues, reviewing return material data, and driving improvements to reliability and manufacturability.
Support root cause analysis activities and help implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA) with internal teams and contract manufacturers.
Perform hands‑on troubleshooting and evaluation of mechanical, optical, and electromechanical subsystems.
Maintain engineering documentation, including BOMs, ECOs, risk assessments, and updates in PLM/ERP systems.
Prepare technical reports and documentation to communicate findings across cross‑functional teams.
Required Skills (Must‑Haves)
SolidWorks proficiency
Expert knowledge of GD&T
Preferred Skills (Nice‑to‑Haves)
Machine shop or hands‑on fabrication experience.
Manufacturing or production support experience.
Additional Preferred Skills (from original JD)
Experience with NPI processes, pilot builds, or design transfer.
Familiarity with optics, motion systems, or electromechanical assemblies.
Experience troubleshooting liquid handling or automation systems.
Exposure to DFM/DFA, ISO 13485, FDA‑regulated environments.
Experience with reliability testing (MTBF/MTTR) and FMEA.
Working knowledge of Python, Jira, Confluence, Oracle ERP, or Arena PLM.
Strong collaboration skills across R&D, operations, supply chain, and service teams.
