Location: Flexible within South Central geography (Ft Worth, TX; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Houston, TX; Tulsa, OK; Baton Rouge, LA; Albuquerque, NM). This role is full‑time and mid‑senior level.

Job Description Lead engineering of multi‑site transmission line projects up to 765 kV, providing technical assistance and guidance throughout due diligence, permitting, remediation, and construction phases. Responsibilities include research, design, planning, and construction oversight for facilities such as roads, bridges, water supply systems, and sewage treatment.

Responsibilities

Lead and execute engineering of transmission projects up to 765 kV.

Plan and support initial project execution layouts.

Create and maintain project schedules.

Conduct weekly or bi‑weekly project meetings to outline deliverables and tasks.

Coordinate with clients on project status and support meetings.

Maintain project workflow and communication across multidisciplinary teams.

Forecast project requirements for resource planning.

Adhere to QA/QC procedures.

Participate in industry conferences for professional growth.

Demonstrate design expertise in PLS‑CADD, structure staking, foundations, assembly drawings, construction specifications, and estimates.

Lead project teams of varying sizes.

Travel to client offices/field/vendor facilities as needed.

Support the Project Manager with status reports and scope development.

Assist in developing client relationships to position WSP for future work.

Provide business improvement methodologies and procedures.

Support recruitment and performance development within the department.

Adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.

Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.

5‑7 years of experience managing transmission projects and leading multidisciplinary teams.

Professional Engineering (PE) licensure.

Understanding of NESC, RUS, and/or GO‑90.

Strong knowledge of transmission line fundamentals and PLS‑CADD operation.

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Track record of upholding workplace safety and adherence to WSP’s health, safety, and anti‑harassment policies.

Preferred Qualifications

Field program planning, management, and execution experience.

Subcontractor management.

Cost estimating and scheduling experience.

Field experience.

MBA degree from an accredited university.

Active involvement in technical societies (IEEE, CIGRE, ASCE, etc.).

Experience using ArcGIS, AutoCAD/MicroStation, and foundation design software (FAD Tools, SHAFT, LPILE).

POLE and TOWER design experience.
