Music Teacher/Choir Director

Professional Responsibilities
Assist the education team with lesson planning and music instruction on Clavinova pianos, hand bells, and choral music.
Coordinate choir logistics (caregivers, drivers), direct performances, supervise resident-public interactions, and maintain choir records (scrapbook, sheet music, attendance).
Maintain and inventory musical instruments, report mechanical issues, and schedule tuning or maintenance as needed.
Oversee staff/volunteers in music classes, supervise residents during choir/music labs, collaborate with the Advancement team for Ambassador Choir, and support Christian life musical activities.
Qualifications
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Music or Music Therapy (Master’s preferred) plus 3‑5 years of related professional experience, including music instruction and choral directing.
Keyboard skills essential; other instrumental skills strongly desired.
Strong organizational and planning skills required.
Ability to actively engage individuals with special needs in music.
Some weekend work expected to help with resident performances.
Ability to meet all clearance requirements, including Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card, background check, pre‑employment physical, drug screening, reference check, and verification of absence from the Arizona Adult Protective Services Registry.
Evidence of strong ethical standards and moral character, sensitivity to the needs of the residents, and strong Christian commitment (desirable).
