Senior Conversation Designer (CxD) We’re hiring a Senior Conversation Designer (CxD) to support one of our clients within a Consumer Product organization. In this role, you’ll serve as the primary conversational design partner for product and engineering teams, creating high-quality voice and chatbot experiences that anticipate consumer needs and improve engagement. This position plays a key role in advancing deterministic and AI-powered conversational experiences while meeting accessibility, health literacy, and design best practices.

Base Pay Range $80.00/hr - $90.00/hr

Responsibilities

Design consumer-centric conversational experiences for voice and chatbot platforms, including deterministic and AI-powered flows

Personally create and own chatbot prompts, including opening messages, decision paths, branching logic, and error handling

Analyze user interaction transcripts to inform conversational flows, intents, utterances, and interaction models

Create and maintain clear flow diagrams and supporting documentation, including edge cases and failure scenarios

Act as a conversational design subject matter expert for product and engineering partners

Collaborate with product, engineering, UX/UI, legal, and accessibility teams to deliver scalable solutions

Ensure conversational content aligns with strategy, brand voice, tone, and best practices

Lead design reviews and provide feedback on team deliverables

Support and guide junior conversation designers

Required Qualifications

4+ years of hands‑on experience in conversation design, content design, conversational writing, UX writing, or related fields

Demonstrated ownership of chatbot prompt creation and conversational flows, not just high-level strategy or oversight

Proven experience designing deterministic chatbot experiences, including pre‑written prompts and structured decision logic

Working knowledge of conversational AI concepts such as prompt design and intent modeling

Ability to clearly present and explain hands‑on conversational work through a portfolio

Strong communication, collaboration, and problem‑solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with tools such as Figma, Office Suite, Aha!, or similar

Familiarity with accessibility, health literacy, and plain language guidelines

Experience with conversational AI platforms such as Amazon Lex or similar tools

Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments

Curious, growth‑oriented mindset with a willingness to explore new approaches
