About the Role Join our dynamic medical imaging team as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist! We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to perform diagnostic imaging procedures using radiopharmaceuticals. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of nuclear medicine protocols, patient care, and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Ensures correct patient identity 100% of the time by verbally verifying patient name and date of birth and comparing those responses to what is printed on the exam requisition, as observed by immediate supervisor.

Prepares patient for procedure 100% of the time by explaining procedure according to age‑specific needs to gain cooperation, minimize anxiety, and optimize desired results, as observed by immediate supervisor.

Positions patient in accordance with established protocols or approved physician instructions, employing immobilization devices, lead shielding, and collimation as appropriate 100% of the time, as reviewed in random critiques of images by radiologist or QC Technologist.

Verifies informed consent where required 100% of the time, as indicated by retrospective reviews of consent form presence in the chart for specific nuclear medicine exams and injections.

Prepares and administers proper radiopharmaceuticals for procedures to patients in accordance with Department policy, and State and Federal regulations as observed by Supervisor.

Maintains adequate records of radioisotope receipts, usage, storage, and disposal in accordance with State and Federal regulations as evidenced random check of records.

Orders radiopharmaceuticals in the absence of the Chief Technologist as needed as indicated by availability of radiopharmaceuticals.

Qualifications Required

Graduate of an accredited program in Nuclear Medicine (Bachelor’s degree or Associate’s Degree).

Current New Jersey license in Nuclear Medicine Technology.

Annual fit testing is required.

Must maintain valid certification by the American Heart Association in Basic Life Support (BLS)/CPR.

Preferred

One (1) year of clinical nuclear medicine experience preferred but not required.

NJ State license and ARRT or NMTCB certification and current active registration.

Compensation The expected salary range for this position is PH30C: Min. $43.16 – Mid. $52.18 – Max. $62.29 per hour in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Law; final compensation will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
