Indiana University Health is seeking individuals who embody these values to join our Respiratory Care leadership team in the role of Director – Respiratory Care.

The Director – Respiratory Care provides administrative decision-making, leadership, and strategic planning, including the efficient and productive use of personnel, material, and financial resources for the assigned hospital. This director establishes policy and direction for department programs and services and is accountable for department results. The leader’s responsibilities include the efficient and purposeful integration of services with other areas and emerging delivery systems, and account for driving preeminence throughout the assigned areas. Preeminence is being acknowledged as a leader in quality, clinical care, education, and research by peers. This director acts as a partner of the IU Health leadership team and participates in strategic planning and the attainment of goals.

Key Relationships

Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA. Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.

Requires a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, i.e., Business. Master’s degree in Business or related field preferred.

Requires 7–10 years of relevant experience. Requires graduation from a CoARC accredited respiratory care program.

Requires a current Indiana license as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.

Requires RRT credential by the NBRC.

Requires knowledge of state and national regulatory agency guidelines.

Requires demonstrated leadership skills (inspiring, problem solving, communication across multiple organizations, executing).
