Revenue Accounting Manager
A global professional services organization is seeking a
Revenue Accounting Manager
to oversee the end-to-end revenue cycle and ensure accurate revenue recognition and reporting. This role plays a critical part in translating business strategy into compliant, scalable financial processes while partnering closely with finance, operations, and technology teams.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting expertise under
ASC 606 , experience leading teams, and a passion for process improvement in a fast‑paced, project‑driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
Own and manage the full revenue accounting lifecycle, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 and internal policies.
Review customer contracts and assess appropriate revenue recognition treatment.
Oversee revenue‑related analyses and reconciliations, including revenue, deferred revenue, and WIP.
Serve as the system subject‑matter expert for contracts, projects, and billing transactions.
Develop and implement best practices for contract setup and revenue accounting processes.
Lead, mentor, and evaluate direct reports to drive performance and accountability.
Partner with finance, operations, and IT to ensure accurate project setup, system integrity, and data quality.
Draft technical accounting memos and support audits and strategic initiatives impacting revenue recognition.
Analyze revenue trends and explain forecast variances to stakeholders.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
in Accounting required.
ASC 606 experience
required.
4+ years
of public accounting (audit preferred) or relevant industry experience.
Strong understanding of GAAP and revenue recognition principles.
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups); strong MS Office proficiency.
Experience with Workday or similar ERP systems preferred.
Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
