Overview The Medical Informatics Senior Specialist, Epic assumes responsibility for all types of clinical information education and training activities by managing resources in response to customer needs through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Synthesizing knowledge of computer systems and clinical workflow processes, the Senior Specialist collaboratively plans, implements, and evaluates clinical systems and supports end‑users. Serves as a role model, consultant, change agent, and facilitator, in assessing learning needs and in planning, implementing, and evaluating the training and support required for safe and efficient use of medical information systems in an evidence‑based clinical approach.

Responsibilities
Provides leadership for the development of work processes and information systems and tools which enable clinical end-users to provide safe, high quality patient care.
Coordinates end-user involvement in the integration of clinical work and information systems and tools, acting as a liaison and consultant.
Provides on‑going support to clinical end-users of information systems and tools.
Provides comprehensive management and development of the information systems education and training programs.
Qualifications
Master's Degree preferred and 1‑2 years' experience as a Clinical Informatics training or systems analyst role and/or as an education specialist in a clinical area with computer knowledge or related experience. Knowledge of EHR applications preferred.
At least one application‑specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership.
HIMSS (CAHIMS, CPHIMS) certification or, for licensed nurses - ANCC Nursing Informatics Spec Certification Preferred
Bachelor's Degree preferred and 3‑5 years' experience as a Clinical Informatics training or systems analyst role and/or as an education specialist in a clinical area with computer knowledge or related experience. Knowledge of EHR applications preferred.
At least one application‑specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Required within 120 days of hire. Must complete Epic certification training if not already Epic certified in the most recent version of the Epic EHR product. Tracked by department leadership.
HIMSS (CAHIMS, CPHIMS) certification or, for licensed nurses - ANCC Nursing Informatics Spec Certification Preferred
Associate's Degree and 5‑7 years' experience as a Clinical Informatics training or systems analyst role and/or as an education specialist in a clinical area with computer knowledge or related experience. Knowledge of EHR applications preferred.

Starting Pay Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $39.59/hr, but your salaried offer will be determined based upon your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home This is an intermittent remote position, which means that the person hired will work with his or her manager to determine a schedule that includes both at home and on‑site hours at a Children's Mercy location. The incumbent must live in the Kansas City metro area.
