$19.50–$21.50 per hour Overview
The emergency shelter team provides 24/7 survival‑support services to homeless and runaway youth. Counselors establish respectful, trusting relationships, identify needs, and develop strategies to foster stability. Responsibilities
Supervise daily activities: wake‑up, clean‑up, chores, bedtime Distribute medications and maintain documentation Liaise with Intake and Emergency Shelter Support teams Provide individual counseling and mentoring Respond to after‑hour intake of youth in need Develop and supervise social, cultural and recreational activities Respond to crises, conflicts and prevention interventions Maintain accurate program records and facility grounds Plan and prepare daily meals Other duties as assigned Qualifications
Youth friendly; positive, calm and objective in crisis situations Sensitive to cultural diversity and able to build relationships with key stakeholders Significant knowledge of Positive Youth Development, Counseling approaches, adolescent development, residential services, group facilitation and training methods, crisis prevention, intervention skills, social & recreational activities, meal preparation, housekeeping and facility maintenance Requirements
Valid driver’s license; acceptable driving record Physical Requirementsh3>
Must be autonomously mobile and able to work anywhere within the 3‑story facility. Equal Opportunity Statement
